Brake Fluid

The brake fluid of every vehicle should be part of a regular inspection checkup. This is one of the fluids that often slips the mind of the vehicle owner. The brake fluid should be serviced periodically as preventive maintenance, depending on mileage and driving conditions.

Brake fluid is tested for moisture, at JB Auto Repair, we will test the fluid for moisture during a brake service procedure. We recommend replacing the brake fluid every three years or sooner if a test shows excessive moisture. If the brake fluid is needed to be replaced, this means flushing and bleeding out the old fluid and replacing it with new brake fluid. Simply removing the brake fluid from the brake master cylinder reservoir isn’t enough. All the old fluid must be flushed from the brake master cylinder, brake lines, calipers, wheel cylinders and flex brake hoses. Don’t be satisfied with performing only partial job.
